Prof. Mohamad Mohty, France

Mohamad Mohty is a Professor of Hematology and head of the Hematology and Cellular Therapy Department at the Saint-Antoine Hospital and Sorbonne University in Paris, France. He is also head of a translational research team (Inserm) at the Saint-Antoine Research Centre in Paris.

Prof. Mohty is the past president of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT). He is also current chairman of the International Academy for Clinical Hematology (IACH; www.iach.org) and executive board member of the Intergroupe Francophone du Myélome (IFM).

Prof. Thierry Facon, France

Thierry Facon, MD, is Professor of Haematology in the Department of Haematology, Lille University Hospital, Lille, France, a position he has held since 2000. He currently serves as President of the French Society of Hematology (2021-2025) and is a Member of the French Academy of Medicine (Académie Nationale de Médecine). Professor Facon was President of the IFM from 2003 to 2006 and has presented at many international congresses.

Dr. Muna Al Tarshi, Oman

Dr. Muna Altarshi studied medicine at the college of medicine and health sciences at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman. After graduating with an MD she joined McGill University in Montreal, Canada where she did her internal medicine and hematology residencies and obtained the FRCPC ( Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) certification in internal medicine and hematology as well as the American Board of Internal Medicine during this period. After that she did her fellowship in bone marrow transplant at Princess Margaret Cancer Center at University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. She is currently working at the Royal hospital in Muscat, Oman as a Senior Consultant. Her main practice is in Lymphoma, Plasma Cell Myeloma and Autologus stem cells transplant. She is the associate program director of the Hematopathology residency program at Oman Medical Speciality Board. She is the treasurer of the Omani Society of Hematology.

Dr. Ayman Alhejazi, KSA

Consultant in the division of Adult Hematology, Department of Oncology at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Riyadh and Assistant Professor of Hematology at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Riyadh. 

Dr. Nour Moukalled, Lebanon

Dr. Moukalled is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the American University of Beirut. Dr. Moukalled was the H.J Khoury fellow in leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and is currently part of the stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy team at AUBMC.

She is a member of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and is currently the coleader of the Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia subcommitte of the lymphoma working party of the EBMT.

Dr. Arif Alam, UAE

Dr. Arif is currently the Chief of the Hematology Division and a Consultant Hematologist/Oncologist at Oncology Department at Tawam Hospital as well as Adjunct Associate Professor at the faculty of medicine at UAE University.
Before joining Tawam hospital, he served in the capacity of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University and consultant oncologist at Johns Hopkins International, Singapore.

Prior to Johns Hopkins Singapore, he served in the capacity of Assistant Professor of Medicine at State University of New York at Buffalo consultant physician in the stem cell transplant division at Roswell Park cancer Institute.

Dr. Jorgen Kristensen, UAE

Dr Jorgen has more than 30 years of experience as haematologist. He graduated from University of Aarhus in Denmark in 1984. He continued his practice in Sweden over the following 16 years. He completed a PhD in Drug Sensitivity Testing from University of Uppsala in Sweden and was there appointed as Associate Professor. His work has gone on to be widely published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Inas El-Najjar, UAE

Consultant Hematologist and Bone marrow transplant specialist at Yas clinic Khalifa city. Director of undergraduate and post graduate program. Associate professor at college of medicine and health sciences, UAE university. 

Dr Inas El-Najjar has completed Doctorate of Medicine at Queen Mary University London and specialist training in UK, she worked as Hematology consultant in GUYS and st Thomas as well as Honorary consultant at Kings College London .

Dr. Mohammad S. Ebraheem, Kuwait

Dr. Mohammad Soliman Ebraheem is a malignant hematologist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center with a special interest in plasma cell neoplasms. He completed his internal medicine and hematology residencies at McMaster University Canada, followed by an advanced fellowship in multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and dysproteinemias at Mayo Clinic Rochester. He also holds a Master’s degree in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University, with a focus on evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Cherif is Chairman of Hematology at Hamad Medical Corporation and Professor of Hematology at Qatar University, Doha. He remains actively involved in clinical research, mentoring, and international collaboration in benign and malignant hematology.

Dr. Mahmood S. A. Al-Abri, Oman

Dr. Mahmood Al-Abri is a consultant hematologist at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital with dual certification in hematology and internal medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his medical training at the University of St Andrews and University of Manchester, followed by internal medicine and hematology residencies at McGill University and the University of Toronto.

Dr. Al-Abri pursued subspecialty fellowships in lymphoma, myeloma, autologous stem cell transplantation, and leukemia at the University of Toronto, where he also gained significant experience in malignant hematology. He has held consultant and academic appointments at several leading Canadian centers, including Michael Garron Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Queen’s University, before returning to Oman.

He has been at SQUH since January 2024, and his focus now is myeloma, lymphoma, CART cell therapy and autologous stem cell transplant.

Prof. Evangelos Terpos, Greece

Evangelos Terpos, MD, PhD is a Professor of Hematology and Director of Stem Cell Transplantation Unit in the Department of Clinical Therapeutics of the National & Kapodistrian University, School of Medicine, Athens, Greece.

Dr Terpos is Councilor in the European Hematology Association (EHA) Board, Chair of the Supervisor Board of the EHA Foundation and member of the Board of the European Myeloma Network (EMN). He is co-chairing the Bone Sub-Committee of the International Myeloma Working Group, he is a member of the Guideline Committees of EHA and of EMN, and he is President of the Greek Myeloma Study Group.

His research work was reported in more than 800 papers in peer-reviewed journals and he has more than 55,000 citations and an h-index of 102 in ISI/Web of Knowledge and more than 65,000 citations and an h-index of 120 in Google Scholar.

Dr. Anas Hamad, Qatar

Dr. Anas is currently the Deputy Chief of Drug Supply Department at Hamad Medical Corporation. He holds a position at Qatar University as a Clinical Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Practice. He is leading the Health Technology Assessment and Innovation Regulation Project of the National Health Strategy under the Ministry of Public Health. In addition, he is chairing the Standing Committee on Medication Services at Qatar Red Crescent Society. He is the Vice President & Director of ISPOR Qatar Chapter. He is also the Vice President of Hospital Pharmacy Section at the International Pharmaceutical Federation for EMRO Region.

Dr. Anas is an active researcher with several publications and conference proceedings. He is an Editorial Board Member at International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Review Editor at Frontiers in Oncology.

Prof. Ali Bazarbachi, Lebanon

Ali Bazarbachi, MD, PhD is a Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Oncology) and founding director of the bone marrow transplantation program at the American University of Beirut. He is the Chairman of the EBMT Lymphoma Working Party, Chairman of the NCCN Lymphoma Group for MENA, and Associate Editor of “Bone Marrow Transplantation”.

Dr. Emmanouil (Manos) Nikolousis, UAE

Dr. Emmanouil (Manos) Nikolousis is a Consultant Hematologist with over 21 years of experience. He is U.K. board-certified in Clinical Hematology and Bone Marrow transplant. He completed his hematology and bone marrow transplant training in the West Midlands region and subsequently became the Clinical Director of Hematology and Stem cell transplantation at Heartlands Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham, one of the the top 5 Hospitals in the U.K. He then became a Medical Director at UHB one of the largest Trusts in the UK until March 2021. He then moved to Cyprus as a Professor of Hematology and the Chair of Medical School at the European University of Cyprus. He is currently the Programme Director for Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies at American Hospital in Dubai.

Dr Shabeeha K. Rana is a consultant haematologist in Dubai with over 25 years of experience. Trained in the United Kingdom, she is recognised for her expertise in myeloma, lymphoma, leukaemia, and stem cell transplantation. Patients and colleagues across the UAE value her clinical excellence, leadership, and compassionate approach to care.

Dr Shabeeha has played a central role in advancing haematology services in Dubai. She established the first centre for autologous stem cell transplantation at the American Hospital Dubai and helped develop the region’s bone marrow and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation programme.

Dr. Shahrukh Hashmi, UAE

Dr. Shahrukh Hashmi is currently the Director of Research at the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine (Minnesota, US)
He graduated from Baqai Medical University, Pakistan, as the top graduate receiving Gold Medal from the President of Pakistan. He received Master’s Degree (MPH) from Yale University, Connecticut, US. He is triple-boarded from the US, being Diplomat of the American Board of Preventive Medicine/Public Health, Internal Medicine, and Hematology. He has served as PI or Co-PI on many industry-sponsored and NIH-sponsored trials. His research interests include premature Aging Biology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cellular therapies(CAR-T cells and Gene Therapy). He is also involved in Stem Cell Therapeutics, particularly in regenerative hematology. He has authored >300 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including in JAMA Oncology, Lancet Hematology, and NEJM, and has >10,000 citations.
